Ok, so this year I set many New Years resolutions for myself. One was to become more creative and crafty. I decided that I would do this by choosing one new craft, recipe, housekeeping trick, etc, every week for the entire year. Some are super easy, others are really challenging me and helping me to develop new skills, which is great since that was the whole point of choosing this goal for myself. Well, that, and to maintain balance in my life as a new mom by continually pursuing things that are of interest to me :) Anyway... I am documenting my journey and here are some of my experiments so far...
1. A baby footprint ornament documenting Millie's first Christmas

2. Braided baby headbands

3. Sending a baby announcement to the White House to get a reply

4. Homemade Lemon and Witch Hazel Toner

5. A wire bracelet twisted into the word "love"

6. A baby quilt

7. Strawberry inspired baby shoes (I bought the shoes second hand for $2.50 and turned them into an imitation of some baby boutique shoes I had seen retailing for something crazy like $36)

8. I have visited MAC several times to get new makeup tips from the pros. I can't believe what a difference a few simple tricks make! :)

9. Banana Chips
*** I don't have a picture of this and I so wish I did. The BLACK banana "chips" that were sealed forever onto my tray were a humble reminder that success often requires failures. haha! My crappy oven in our rental doesn't stay on at a low enough heat but I thought I could get away with it anyway... I was so wrong! :)
10. 'Instagramed' some pictures and then had them made into fridge magnets

11. Pretzel cookies with chocolate and peanut butter! Oh yeah! If you like the salty and sweet combo you have GOT to try these!

12. Oil cleansing method
***I am so surprised at how nice my skin feels after doing this for a month! I have been a fan of Proactive cleanser for some time now and didn't think I'd stop using it but this oil cleansing method is AWESOME and a whole lot cheaper!! There was an adjustment period for a while there and it felt weird putting oil on my face at first but you get used to it and it's so worth it!

13. Diving into photography (Obviously, this is just the beginning of a long journey, I hope, but it's "accomplished" in the sense that I spent time learning about it and now know more than I did before. Baby steps...
